There are a number of different Humana medicare plans in three categories:
- Humana Medicare Supplement Plans
- Humana Medicare Advantage Plans
- Humana Medicare Prescription Drug Plans
Humana also offers a number of additional services like Silver Sneakers, Mail order prescriptions, and a web portal to help members manage their healthcare needs.
Humana Medicare Supplement Plans
Standardized Humana medicare supplement plans offer the most flexibility and you can choose any provider you want...as long as they accept Medicare insurance. In order to be eligible for a Humana Medicare Supplement you have to have both Medicare Part A coverage and Medicare Part B. The level of coverage will depend on which standardized Medicare supplement plan you choose. Humana health does not offer all plans in Florida... they do offer Plans A, B, C, F, high deductible F, K, and L.

Humana's Medicare Advantage Plans
Humana offers three Medicare Advantage:
- Humana Gold Plus - HMO
This Medicare Advantage HMO requires you to use network providers, so in order to be eligible you must live in the coverage area. Availability of these Humana medicare plans will vary. If coverage is not available you should consider the Humana medicare PPO or the Humana medicare PFFS plans. - HumanaChoicePPO
This plan gives you the flexibility to to seek out of network coverage if needed and the access to network providers to minimize costs. Out of network service will cost you more. The coverage areas for the Humana Choice PPO are larger than Humana Gold Choice PPO and is available in more areas. - Humana Gold Choice PFFS
These are the most flexible and allow you to see almost any doctor. You are not required to use a network and you don't need referrals to see specialists. Each time you seek service your provider will have to choose whether or not they are willing to accept your plans terms and conditions of payment.
Humana Medicare advantage plans are designed to be simple and affordable by allowing you to combine your healthcare coverage and prescription drug coverage. Humana Medicare advantage plans offer additional benefits beyongd what is required by Medicare. For example: Original Medicare does not offer coverage outside the U.S., but Humana does offer worldwide coverage for emergency care on the Humana Choice PPO.
Humana Medicare Special Needs Plans provide healthcare coverage for people with specialized health needs. Special needs plans are tailored to fit the specific needs and conditions of Medicare beneficiaries with disabling condition.
