Cigna Health Insurance

Cigna health insurance has one of the best customer service departments. I deal with most of the large insurance companies on a daily basis so I have a lot of contact with them. Cigna is open 24 hours a day. At first I didn’t think it was a very big deal, but then I found myself calling them early in the morning or late in the evening. Cigna has also won a number of awards forand received high marks for their : web portal, customer service, quality of service, and access to care. I have also found that there customer service is consistently good and I have always been able to get problems resolved quickly.

Cigna insurance has primarily focused on large employer groups like Applebees, and Federal Express. Cigna healthcare has now entered the Individual and small group markets, bringing with them all the great tools they created for their large group clients employees and made them available to individuals and small groups.

Cigna offers a variety of health care plans to employer groups, self-employed, small groups, families, and individuals:

  • Medical
  • Dental
  • Vision
  • Accident
  • International
  • Expatriate
  • Life and Disability

Cigna Open Access Plans are designed to meet the needs of individual s and families by offering comprehensive healthcare coverage at good value. Cigna offers in and out of network coverage. In my opinion it is always best to use a network provider, unless you want to pay more for healthcare. If you must use a specific provider then get a plan you know they will accept. Cigna’s nationwide network has over 500,000 providers to choose from. For example: in Florida Cigna’s network has over 28,000 doctors and over 200 participating hospitals.

Cigna Health Savings Plans are comprehensive high deductible health insurance plans that allow you to use a tax advantaged savings account (HSA- Health Savings Account) to pay for, and/or save for, medical expenses. A Cigna Health Savings Account – Cigna HSA is an alternative to traditional health insurance.  It is a savings product that offers a different way for consumers to pay for their health care. Cigna HSA’s enable you to pay for current health expenses and save for future qualified medical and retiree health expenses on a tax-free basis.

Cigna individual health plans, and family health plans, are designed to encourage you to get healthy and stay well. Whether you are looking for a health plans with the lowest premium, or if you prefer a benefit rich copay plan with a low deductible Cigna has a plan that will fit your needs. Cigna members also have access to discounts on fitness club memberships, weight management programs, and even acupuncture. Cigna also offers extremely competitive premiums. In some areas Cigna’s rates are lower by as much as 40% or more.
