They are a Miami based company and began offering plans only in Miami as a Preferred Sponsored Organization (PSO) in 2002. Experiencing rapid growth in the first few years due to their strong leadership and commitment to improving the health of their members, they expanded to Ft. Lauderdale and then into the Ocala , Leesburg and The Villages area . They just began offering the Florida Medicare Advantage plans in 2011 for Tampa / St. Petersburg area. All in all I think Preferred Care Partners offers great value. It is a solid plan, with excellent benefits, and a strong provider network. I first heard about Preferred Care Partners from my Mother’s friend, Rita. A few years ago she went through a common procedure, a hip replacement. One night over dinner at my parents house we started talking about Medicare, she jumped right in telling me how much she liked her health plan with Preferred Care Partners. They even provided the transportation to a few of her specialist visits when she wasn’t able to make her own arrangements. I was a bit set back so I said “ sure, but how much did you pay in Co-payments?” expecting to hear a few hundred dollars. Smiling, she said “nothing”. After taking a few seconds, I asked “Then how much did you pay in premium?” Smiling a little bigger, “nothing”. Of course, after she left, my Mom drilled me on why she is paying so much for her AARP Medicare Supplement.
